Reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Full-time, exempt salaried position. While the Association offers flexible scheduling, and maintains a remote work policy, several of these duties will be required in person, in Lansing and onsite for Association events. Some travel is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Association. This leadership role involves implementing best practices, optimizing workflows, managing team members, and ensuring that organizational goals are met in a cost-effective and timely manner.

• Oversee daily operations and ensure alignment with the Association's mission and goals
• Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency
• Oversee budgets and ensure expenses align with financial goals, including monthly analysis of Profit & Loss statement
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services, making recommendations for improvement and growth
• Lead, motivate, and mentor team to achieve organizational objectives, fostering a positive work culture and encouraging professional growth
  • Oversee education staff in development of curriculum, tools, and training that support member organization professional and leadership development; alignment with cost guidelines; and meeting budgeted revenue goals – including of grant funded programs
  • Oversee administrative staff in daily operations
• Analyze the current technology infrastructure and explore the next level of information technology and financial systems that support the growth of specific programs and the organization overall
• Design and manage programming that supports success of member organizations
• Collaborate with senior leadership to shape and implement long-term operational strategies
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Works with the Chief Executive Officer in all aspects of program implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to inspire and motivate team members
• Excellent planning and organizational skills, with a focus on efficiency and results
• Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, resource allocation, and analysis of Profit and Loss statements
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with stakeholders
• A passion for the nonprofit sector and a commitment to the Association's mission and vision
• Undergraduate degree required; MBA or similar advanced degree desired
• Experience related to association management or the human services field a plus
