MRC artWorks
Original, whimsical and high quality paintings, cards, ornaments, knit or crocheted products, jewelry, and much more.
MRC artWorks— a program of MRC Industries, Inc. — is an art gallery, studio and retail store located on the Kalamazoo Mall in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo. MRC artWorks offers unique and affordable art created by individuals with disabilities, providing an outlet to achieve creative self‐expression in a way that promotes personal growth, dignity, and self-confidence. We strive to enrich the community with the diversity of art by participating in local Art Hops and promoting our artists’ work through a variety of venues. All artists receive a commission for the sale of their work, which not only serves as their source of income, but also enhances and reinforces their self-esteem and self-worth. MRC artWorks provides a safe, positive, and creative environment that focuses on the individual’s abilities rather than their disabilities.

Services to Enhance Potential (STEP)
The STEP 2021 Calendar is a compilation of artwork created by members of the STEP Artist Collective, including individuals with disabilities and/or mental illness in Wayne County. Our art program is a cornerstone of what we do at STEP. We work to advance the potential of others by helping them reach their life goals!
The STEP Art Program is anchored by 14 studio art classes for all levels and regularly presents gallery quality shows in the community. For the individual artist, the STEP Art Program fosters independence by acknowledging accomplishment, practicing motor skills, while developing critical thinking and learning. The program focuses on the fundamentals of communication through art: color theory, shape, pattern, perspective, and content.
Calendars are $12.00 each or 2 for $20. There is a $2.75 fee for shipping. Proceeds from calendar sales go directly to the artists (40%) and to support the STEP Art Program (60%).

Work Skills Corporation
As an integral part of Work Skills Corporation (WSC) ventures and in keeping with our mission to Optimize Potential, Studio West Gallery opened its doors in 2011 to showcase artists with disabilities. At WSC, artists work in a variety of mediums, including painting and drawing, ceramics and fiber arts. Their work is then exhibited and sold in the Studio West Gallery to allow our artisans to earn income from art sales, build artistic skills, enhance quality of life and strengthen and beautify our communities through the arts.
This Ability Studio is their online mission-based shop and gallery for artisans with barriers, featuring handmade holiday mask holders/lanyards, ornaments and Giclee’ mounted prints.
